The Harghita Community Development Association (ADI Harghita) is launching an essay writing competition for secondary school and university students (14-25 years old) within the framework of the Revision - Remembering the past, envisioning the future project, on the topic of World War II.
Participants in the competition are invited to:
- to gather information about the events of World War II from people who lived during the war or who have heard personal stories from their parents or grandparents,
- reflect on their vision of an ideal future and the role of the European Union in that vision,
- write an essay of at least 3 and no more than 5 pages
It is also possible to attach videos, photos, postcards, letters, etc. taken during the Second World War.
Applications will be evaluated by a jury of three members of the association.
The first four winners will be invited to travel to one of the countries participating in the project, where they will spend three days free of charge, with full board, and will have to present their work in a short 10-15 minute presentation.
- First prize - Portugal
- Second prize - Italy
- Third place - Poland
- Fourth place - Albania
Essays should be sent to adiharghita@hargitamegye.ro in PDF format. All applicants are asked to write the word Revision in the subject line of the letter and to include their name and the title of their essay (name_title of the essay) as the name of the file containing the essay.
Essay format requirements: A/4 paper size, 25 mm margins (right, left, bottom, top), Times New Roman 12 pt, justified, 1.5 line spacing.
Deadline for submission: 31 October 2019.
Results announcement: 15 November 2019.
